The Australian Wool Testing Authority Ltd (AWTA Product Testing) has conducted fire testing on a product submitted by That Metal Company, located at Unit 7, 13 Lyell Street, Mittagong, NSW 2575. The testing was performed in accordance with AS/NZS 3837-1998, which assesses heat and smoke release rates for materials and products using an oxygen consumption calorimeter. This assessment also complies with AS 5637.1-2015, validating the test method for determining the National Construction Code (NCC) Group Number classification.
The tested product, referred to as the “900 Series” Anodized Aluminium – Aluminium Plate. It had an approximate nominal mass per unit area of 1739 g/m² and a nominal thickness of 1 mm. Based on the results, the product achieved an NCC Group Number Classification of 1, with an average specific extinction area of 26.4 m²/kg.
